Sunrises and Sunsets are MAGICAL
Sunrises and Sunsets are magical, and maybe helpful to our overall well-being.
I recently heard Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist and Stanford professor of Neurobiology on my favorite podcast, The Armchair Expert. He talked about how sunlight can affect us. Taking in 10 minutes of sunlight in the morning and 10 minutes at the end of the day can help improve sleep and people’s drive to be attracted to each other. I have been paying more attention to sunrises and sunsets in the last year and I can say that my sleeping habits have been much better than most of my adult life. My outlook the rest of the day is typically more positive and productive when I have risen with the sun. There are days that I will need a nap to compensate, but overall I feel like my obsession with chasing the sun morning and night has added a little magic to my life.
While most of us focus on those hours in between the rise and the set of the sun, taking the time to soak in the sunlight and feel grounded in nature can help improve those mortal hours in the middle of the day.
